"
FEW" Are SavedWho said it? Jesus did! "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it."
Mt. 7:13,14, nasb. We might find comfort in, "So many people cant be wrong." But Jesus said "many" will be lost! Why are many lost and few saved? One reason is because folks blindly follow teachers who claim to preach "in the name" of Jesus, especially if they claim to be a "prophet," a "reverend," or a scholar ("doctor"), vv. 15-23. But men can be wrong, and Jesus warned, "If a blind man guides a blind man, BOTH will fall into a pit." Mt. 15:14. We are playing Russian roulette with our souls if we do not "examine the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things are so"! (Acts 17:11). We cannot determine truth by counting noses. Ask for book, chapter, and verse. See if the interpretation is supported by the context. Does it harmonize with clear teaching in other passages? Do not base your confidence on the fact that "many" believe it! "But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil." 1 Th. 5:21,22, nasb.
