Bible or
Babblings??
"But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness." 2 Tim. 2:16, nkjv. "Babblings" means "empty discussion, discussion of vain and useless matters" Thayers Greek Lexicon. When you go to church, do you hear Bible or Babblings? Does your preacher appeal to Scripture or Sentiment? Does he quote the Words of God or the Words of men? Are you interested in what poets, churches, and scholars have said or in what the Master and His apostles and prophets said? If you are tired of hearing human wisdom, emotional stories, and man made anecdotes, let me invite you to the assemblies of the church of Christ meeting at 621 Herman St. in Humble. You will hear Divine Scripture quoted, explained, and applied "Preach the Word!" 2 Tim. 4:2. Book, chapter, and verse will be given for statements made. There will be no attempt to entertain, but rather an endeavor to teach the truth that sets men free, John 8:32. You are encouraged to question what you hear. Bring paper, a pencil, and take notes. Then "search the Scriptures to find out whether these things are so" (Acts 17:11).
Our times of meeting are below.
