ON NO! . . . GOD FORBID! But, do we study it? Live by it? Measure our beliefs by it? If we are content with morals and religion that is based on nothing more than personal preferences ("I like it" or "I think…") . . . family ("Grandma & Grandpa, were xyg religion and that’s good enough for me") . . . feelings ("I wouldn’t trade this feeling in my heart for a stack of Bibles") . . . popular approval ("So many people can’t be wrong") . . . or human wisdom ("Rev." or "Dr. so and so says…"), why do we need the Bible?? It is not simply literature. It is God’s revelation to man and designed to be revered, studied with diligence, believed with the all the heart, and practiced daily. It is the measure of moral and religious truth. If we reject it’s authority, whether out of indifference or rebellion, are we not saying in effect, "JUNK THE BIBLE!"??
If you are interested in Bible study, feel free to join us in our current study, "Answering Religious Error," Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. We also meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday for worship. – Steve Fontenot
